Enhancing Community Access to the Outdoors
AB 2534 requires the Department of Parks and Recreation to establish an Outdoor Equity Grant Funding Program to increase the ability of underserved and at-risk populations to participate in outdoor environmental education programs. These programs will help encourage a better understanding and stewardship of the State’s natural resources, increase interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and provide equitable access to our State Parks and public lands.
